About sensory play in Ontario

Sensory classes give babies and toddlers structured exposure to light, texture, sound and movement, usually in a themed weekly session with a facilitator and a parent beside the child.

What to look for

  • The age band of each session; babies and toddlers are usually separate.
  • Class size and how the space and materials are cleaned.
  • Whether you can drop in, or must sign up for a term.
  • Whether the venue is a fixed location or the operator travels.
  • Allergy information for food-based or messy play.

What it costs

Sensory classes are usually sold as a term of weekly sessions or as a drop-in. None of the Ontario listings here publishes a price we could confirm, so we do not quote a range. Ask for the per-session cost and whether siblings are included.

Prices are what providers published on their own sites in 2026 and change often.

Sensory play: common questions

What age is sensory play for?

Most programs start in the first year and run into the toddler years. Listings show the ages a provider publishes.

Is sensory play the same as an indoor playground?

No. Sensory classes are facilitated and themed; an indoor playground is open play. Only venues whose websites describe sensory or baby play programs are listed.

How many sensory listings are there in Ontario?

Few. The category is the smallest on the site because many classes run from rented halls without a public venue. Add one through the contact page.
