About infant massage in Ontario
Infant massage in Ontario comes in two forms: a therapist massages your baby, or an instructor teaches you the strokes so you can do it at home. Listings here cover registered massage therapists and certified infant massage instructors.
What to look for
- Whether the practitioner is a registered massage therapist, a certified infant massage instructor, or both.
- Whether the session is hands-on by the therapist or a class that teaches you.
- The youngest age they treat and whether they ask for a doctor's note.
- Session length and whether you stay in the room (you should).
- Whether receipts can go to an extended health plan; coverage varies by plan.
- Whether they will explain what to avoid, such as massage right after a feed.
What it costs
Among the Ontario providers that publish rates, a 30-minute baby or paediatric massage runs about $55 to $85 (read from their own websites in 2026). Longer sessions and parent-instruction workshops are priced separately, and registered massage therapists usually add HST.
Prices are what providers published on their own sites in 2026 and change often.

Infant massage: common questions
Is infant massage covered by insurance?
Sometimes. Registered massage therapy is often claimable under an extended health plan, but plans differ and a parent-instruction class usually is not. Each listing says what the provider publishes, and leaves it blank when we could not confirm.
When can a newborn have a massage?
Providers differ. Some begin shortly after birth once a baby is medically stable; others suggest waiting a few weeks. Ask the provider and your health care provider.
Should I stay in the room?
Yes. Baby massage is meant to be done with you or in front of you, and instructors teach the technique so you can continue at home.
