About baby spas in Ontario

A baby spa is a short, supervised session in warm, purified water, usually in a small infant tub or with a flotation ring, with a parent close by. Many pair the float with a gentle massage afterwards.

What to look for

  • The youngest age and lowest weight the spa accepts, and why.
  • How the water is treated and how often it is changed between babies.
  • Whether a parent stays in reach for the whole session.
  • Whether staff hold current infant first aid and CPR certification.
  • Whether a neck float is used, and how the baby is supervised in it.
  • What to do if your baby has a cold, rash or recent vaccination.

What it costs

Baby spa pricing is set per session. Among the Ontario spas that publish it, warm-water floats start at $50 and 60-minute hydrotherapy-and-massage combinations run $100 to $105 (prices read from the spas' own websites in 2026). Tub size, session length and whether massage is included change the price, so confirm the total before you book.

Prices are what providers published on their own sites in 2026 and change often.

Baby spas: common questions

How old does a baby need to be for a baby spa?

It depends on the spa. Among the Ontario spas we have read, minimum ages range from about two weeks to a few months, and some use different tubs by age group. Each listing shows the ages the spa publishes.

Is a baby spa the same as infant swim lessons?

No. A baby spa is a calm float or soak, often followed by massage. Swim lessons teach water skills and are run as a class, usually with other families. Both are listed on this site, in separate categories.

Should I check with my doctor first?

Yes. Talk to your family doctor or paediatrician before hydrotherapy, especially for a premature baby or one with skin, heart or breathing concerns.
